Amazon to Increase Canadian Storage Fees 13%+ in 2025

Amazon announced significant fee increases for Canadian FBA storage rates effective February 1, 2025. In this article we'll break down the magnitude of the fee increases.

Big Storage Rate Increases for FBA Canada

While there will be no major referral fee or FBA fee increases, there will be significant fee increases to both base storage rates and storage utilization surcharges.

Base storage rates are going up 11% for standard size items and 12% for oversize items during non-peak. However, they're going up 20% during peak. This means there's a blended average increase of 13% for standard size and 14% for oversize.

Base storage fee rates for Canada are going up 11% to 12%.
Storage rates are going up 20% in Canada during peak (October to November).
Storage rates are going up 20% in Canada during peak (October to November).

Storage utilization rates will increase from 14% to 50% (with longer term storage utilization rates over 52 weeks being the most punitive).

No Increase in FBA Fees

While there will be significant FBA storage fee increases in Canada, FBA fees will not increase. Furthermore, there will be no referral fee in increases either. 

Conclusion

The significant FBA storage fee increase for Canada came somewhat as a surprise given the fact there was no similar increase for the U.S.. Additionally, with no Amazon AWD option in Canada, sellers will mostly be forced to absorb the fee increases with no viable alternatives short of utilizing 3PLs.
