Amazon Prime Day 2024 – Key Stats from the July Event

Amazon Prime Day concluded over a week ago, and we're beginning to get a clearer sense of the winners and losers. 

In this article, we analyze what the most searched for brands were during Prime Day 2024 as well as some early Prime Day results.

Key Prime Day 2024 Stats

Amazon is quite opaque when it comes to releasing data about Prime Day results. Amazon announced that Prime Day 2024 was its largest Prime Day ever (although sellers revealed mixed results during the event). Other data from Prime Day 2024 include:

  • Amazon announced that Prime Day 2024 was its “biggest shopping event ever” with record sales and more items sold during the two-day event than any previous Prime Day. However, actual numbers were not released.
  • Adobe Analytics announced that spending was up 11.7% on Tuesday (the first day of Prime Day) and 10.4% on Wednesday (the second day). According to Adobe, consumers spent $7.2 billion on Tuesday, July 16 and $7 billion on Wednesday, July 17.
  • Adobe also announced that Buy Now, Pay Later accounted for 7.6% of all orders, a 16.4% year-over-year increase.

Most Popular Brands for Prime Day 2024: Amazon's Own Brands Take Top Spots

This year's top brands for Prime Day 2024 were made up of many of the usual suspects including Apple, Nike, and LEGO. One standout from this year though was the emergence of Amazon Basics as the #1 searched for brand on Amazon (up from the #21 spot in 2023). 

One surprising new entrant to the top 10 list for Prime Day 2024 was Anrabess (up from spot #1196 in 2023) an apparel brand founded in 2012 that is based in China. We estimate that Anrabess has revenue well north of $10 million per month.

We also looked at the top new brands for 2024, i.e., brands that were unranked in 2023. 

The top new entrants were JOYIN (seller of toys, party supplies, and seasonal products), SONGMICS (seller of furniture and homewares) and Best Choice Products (seller of homeware and outdoor living products).

Data Collection Notes

Our data is based on sales from the week of July 14 to July 20, 2024. Our data looked at the occurrences of given brand names in search results. Comparative data for Prime Day 2023 looked at the data from the week of July 9 to July 15.
